level.
About SolarNet
SolarNet designs, manufactures and engineers solar energy and PV systems, providing sustainable electricity solutions for neighborhoods and businesses, especially in developing countries.
Founded in Europe, SolarNet has expanded and now maintains offices in Africa, Spain, Ukraine, Hungary, and the Far East, providing additional management and support for many of our projects.
In addition to supplying the necessary components for efficient solar energy solutions, SolarNet also provides consulting and advice on everything from financing solar panel installation to ensuring effective management. Further, we provide ongoing maintenance and support to ensure your PV system functions to its optimal efficiency.
Our Team
SolarNet primarily operates through four distinct teams, each responsible for its own geographic area. Each team includes engineers, project managers and consultants, all working to adapt projects to the specific conditions of a given geography. Further, SolarNet utilizes local experts, engineers and contractors hired on a per-project basis to ensure necessary on-site management.
SolarNet's management team ensures that each team maintains the proper balance of project intake and resources, while also enabling a thriving company culture that unifies each individual employee into one flourishing team, bonded by a shared purpose and vision.
Our Vision
SolarNet is dedicated to providing affordable and accessible clean energy to populations around the world, enabling global interconnectivity and replacing fuels that are harmful to the environment.
SolarNet is committed to improving the lives of anyone within its project purview, becoming an active player in partner countries, helping to create jobs on a local level and even returning 10% of revenue back to developing communities to help them prosper further.
Why SolarNet
SolarNet is fully dedicated to social responsibility, focused on the cause of bringing green and accessible energy to those who will benefit from it most.
SolarNet approaches its work with innovation and creativity, understanding that different topographies, climates and circumstances require different engineering solutions.
SolarNet is broadly skilled in PV and solar development. We stand by each and every module we develop and project we manage, offering a 20 year warranty on our panels with confidence in their quality.
Our Solutions

SolarNet manufactures and distributes PV modules and components for solar energy solutions. SolarNet works directly with clients to supply and install solar panels and systems, and also sells to third-parties who handle the installation and engineering separately.
SolarNet produces modular systems and components for such systems, providing clients with the ability to adjust power capacity at any time.
SolarNet maintains strict procedures for each component that it produces from material selection to assembly, monitoring durability, performance in extreme conditions and degradation.
SolarNet manufactures the following critical components for solar energy solutions:

• Solar Panels, which capture the sunlight and produce energy. Solar panels are made of solar cells with semiconductor properties, wrapped in a protective coat to shield from the elements.
SolarNet manufactures three types of solar panels:
o Monocrystalline panels are composed of one uniform crystal structure. They demonstrate the highest efficiency of all panels, performing better under low-light and extreme conditions.
Monocrystalline panels are the most expensive panels to purchase, but they do offer the best energy savings long term.
o Polycrystalline panels can have a varying crystal structure in different areas of the panel. This makes them less efficient than monocrystalline panels; a greater number of polycrystalline panels is required to generate the same level of power. However, polycrystalline panels are less expensive to purchase.
o Thin film panels are the least efficient but also the least expensive of the three panel types. Their manufacturing method is much simpler than crystalline panels, and the panels themselves are more flexible, less brittle and thus less likely to crack. However, due to their diminished efficiency, significantly more thin film panels are required to generate sufficient electricity, which means more space is needed. Therefore, thin film panels are not recommended for residential systems, and are more frequently used for utility PV systems.
• Inverters, which convert the direct current from the solar panel into an alternating current that can be used to operate electric devices.
SolarNet inverters include a ground fault circuit which will shut off the system if there is a loss of power.
• Racking, also known as the mounting apparatus which connects the solar array onto the ground or rooftop.
SolarNet racking structures are made of steel and aluminum, and designed to withstand even the most extreme weather conditions. Our racking structures are also electrically bonded to prevent electrocution. Further, SolarNet manufactures racking systems for both flat roofs and pitched roofs.
• Batteries, which provide efficient storage for the energy generated by the solar array.
o SolarNet also manufactures charge controllers, which regulates the voltage and current to the battery, ensuring that they don't overcharge.
• Combiners, breakers, meters and wiring, including all of the smaller but critical components to engineer a safe and efficient PV system.

Why Solar Energy
Solar energy has the potential to change the world, especially in developing countries and remote areas.
Solar power is eco-friendly, diminishing carbon emissions and the use of harmful fuels. It is completely sustainable and there is flexibility to adjust the power generated from PV systems according to the needs of the user.
Solar energy and PV systems are low-cost, not only in maintenance but also in saved energy costs. Further, the installation and management of PV systems can create new jobs and economic prosperity for local rural areas.
How It Works
PV - or photovoltaic - systems are composed of one or more solar panels connected to additional hardware that generates electricity from the energy transmitted from the sun. PV systems can vary in size from small rooftop panels to large-scale utility systems.
The system works as follows:
Sunlight falls onto solar panels, where a process called the photovoltaic effect helps to produce an electric current from photons. Each panel only produces a small amount of energy, but when linked together with other panels in a solar array, more significant amounts of energy production are possible.
The current produced from the photovoltaic event is called a direct current; that needs to be converted to an alternating current, which is what's required to power electricity. The inverter handles the DC to AC conversion, creating electricity that can then be used to power electronics locally or transmitted on the grid.
A simple, efficient process that creates sustainable electricity without harmful emissions.
